With the success of its first session, VIA is thrilled to host the second installment of its GDAC™ Virtual Mini-Series on September 30, 2020 at 8:30pm ET. This session will feature presentations from VIA on new GDAC™ portal functionality and a founding member panel discussion on topics like GDAC™’s daily value and solving tomorrow’s challenges with GDAC™.
VIA’s Colin Gounden has been invited to speak on a virtual panel on August 19th hosted by Woodside Capital Partners. The webinar titled, “Smart Sensors and their role in the Digitalization of Energy and Industry” is the first of a three-part series. The panelists will share “their perspectives and insights on the role that Smart Sensors have on the Digitalization of Energy and Industry”.
The Westly Group, a key investor in VIA, has invited CEO Colin Gounden to present during their virtual demo day on July 30th. Colin will present an overview of VIA and progress to date to a group of 100 investors and senior energy executives.
VIA is proud to host the first session of its GDAC™ Virtual Mini-Series on June 24th at 5:oopm ET. Participants in the mini-series include GDAC™ founding members and features a presentation from Andrew Bright, former ABB executive and VIA advisor.
VIA’s Joe Babiec will be co-presenting alongside Ben Bowler and Antonios Papaemmanouil of the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU). VIA and HSLU met during the SUEID event in 2019 and have since been working on a collaboration. The virtual event will take place on June 4th beginning at 10:30am ET, with VIA and HSLU’s joint presentation at 11:15am ET.
VIA’s COO, Kate Ravanis and Team Leader, Product Development, Ashley DaSilva have been invited to speak at Brandeis University for the session, “Analyzing data in the energy industry.” Kate will provide students with an overview of VIA and Ashley will discuss the ways we solve problems for our customers. All Hands are essential to our company culture: they offer an uninterrupted time of sharing team wins, solving project challenges, and planning for the next big thing. John is focused on implementing best practices for software development at VIA. He co-invented VIA’s core platform and currently develops, integrates, and quality assurance tests the platform for VIA’s applications.
Before VIA, John was a freelance consultant at the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), where he focused on updating their Python Library. Prior to this position, he was a technical sales support engineer at NAG in Oxford, where he developed technical marketing material and provided pre-sales assistance. John was awarded the best thesis in gravitation physics in 2016 by the Institute of Physics (IOP). His research focused on developing new numerical methods that capture the physical behavior of fluid interfaces permeated by high magnetic fields while taking into account relativistic effects.
John earned his master’s degree in physics and his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Southampton.
